SOLD - Haida Style Stained Glass Salmon on Diamond Willow

$1,275.00

This piece was inspired by a trip to Vancouver Island during a vacation with my beautiful family. Immersing myself in the island’s natural beauty—its rocks, wood, and wildlife—opened my eyes to its natural beauty and wonders. On the beach, I began carving salmon from cedar driftwood. Upon returning home, I was inspired by Haida style design and began experimenting with vibrant colors. This led me to use the exquisite mouth-blown glass from my private collection.

The glass’s vibrancy captures the salmon’s determined journey to complete its life cycle. The salmon is mounted on a stunning piece of diamond willow, finished with mineral oil and beeswax. The burl at the end symbolizes eternal life.
