Eagle Strength - Stained Glass Sculpture

$9,375.00

The eagle is showing his power and working together with the root by utilizing it as his perch to view his next meal. This piece shows how tough the life of a tree is and that it will not stop at anything until it can feed itself. Thus growing around rocks to reach that anticipated drop of water.

This was a natural process where I believe that there is a spirit inside every object and I am just the catalyst to bring out the natural beauty within.

A notable feature of this piece is the handmade copper beak and talons, which add a sense of solid strength to the eagle. The tree root, which took 1.5 years of meticulous work to achieve its final form, encapsulates large rocks and is finished with approximately 50 coats of mineral oil, lemon oil, carnauba wax, and beeswax.

The Fremont Ruby Red flashed glass, enhanced with gold for its vibrant color, is complemented by Youghiogheny Art glass. The heavily textured specialty Uroboros glass used for the chest resembles the eagle’s plumage.
